Subscription Suicide

I have horrible luck with magazine subscriptions, absolutely horrible. Anytime I finally decide to pay my $19.99, fill out a subscription form, swipe my credit card and hit submit, I'm not joking when I say the magazine is then (for whatever reason) discontinued. Case in point, Blueprint , my all time favorite chic female late 20's trendy magazine, was poof gone in less than a month after my first perfectly printed pages arrived. Second, Domino , one of my all time favorite upscale design magazines, that next month it all of the sudden folds. And just today, Risen , one of my all time favorite rocker spiritual magazines, went under and is no longer able to produce their print magazine. Only this time I hadn't even received my first copy (which btw was a gift for Kyle!), and I found this all out tonight, which is about 4 months after I order it. I decided to finally go to the website and complain about not receiving our copy in the mail yet, but shortly after emailing my c...

Sweet little Cassidy told me something very interesting while we were baking cupcakes this weekend, so I thought I would share, she said "I'm more like Giada , Auntie Li, not Rachel "

Hot Hot Pink

Image
We hung out with some of our favorite friends this weekend and had a blast! Cass and I got our nails done together, and I let her pick out the nail polish color. Out of all the choices, it figures she picked out hot hot pink.

The Bachlorette

Image
Miss Candace is getting hitched in October, so to celebrate her "bachlorette-ness" we had a super girlie weekend in which we did the some of the following: Rented a limo and wore hot pink shirts with funny words ironed on them... Acted really cool by fake smoking bread sticks at J.Lore Drank a lot of corked wine at Tobin... and wigged out a Clautiere winery...

Jaye-Bird

Happy Birthday Jaye! We had such a fun time celebrating with you at Lares and Air Conditioned. Hope you have an awesome day today.

Spamalot

Image
This past weekend we had tickets to the Ahmason Theater in downtown L.A. to see Monty Python's Spamalot, the musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail. It starred John O'Hurley, otherwise known as J. Peterman from Seinfeld, who did a fantastic job as King Arthur. We enjoyed the bad jokes, silly songs and the wacky dancing. We were definitely in a strange mood while leaving the show...

We're back!

Image
We know you all are anxiously awaiting our Kauai update. So here's a quick, well kind of quick, recap. Trust us, it could have been a much longer blog post… First part of the week highlight: Picking mangos on the 9.5 million dollar property, driving the tractor by the macadamia nut orchard, and swimming in the eternity pool at the mansion! Second part of the week highlight: Hanalei farmer's market, brunch at Princeville golf club, Kiluea lighthouse bird watching, Sealodge sunbathing, making leis and rope swing fun at Kipu falls. Middle part of the week highlight: taco Tuesday at Duke's in Nawiliwili, Chris joining us for our adventures, helping at the food bank, swimming in Hanalei bay, and kayaking to secret falls at Kalihiwai. Last part of the week highlight: drive through Waimea canyon and up to the Kalalau canyon lookout, Na Pali coast & Ni'ihau boat ride (100+ spinner dolphins surrounding our boat, snorkling with monk seals), Tahiti Nui night out, and swimming...
