Weekend Bliss

This weekend should be fantastic. I am having fun just thinking about it. We are heading to the Central Coast to see both of our families, here are a few things we have planned: -Dining at our favorite hometown restaurant .  -Goofing off at the highly anticipated book signing of Sherlock Academy's second installation.  -Tasting the wines in season in Paso Robles and enjoying a pasta feast with Nancy and Bruce.  -Kyle will be running the Harvest half marathon  with his brother. -I will be showering my sister Katie with love, along with a bunch of other ladies, to celebrate the arrival of her third little baby! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Comedy within the Drama

So, remember when I posted this ? Well, believe it or not, soon after that post the week following continued to spiral downward. Nothing major, we are obviously doing fine. But we couldn't get a break and as the little things started to pile up on us, things started to seem deliriously comedic. Two funny examples, we were awoken in the middle of the night, 3 am to be exact, and bolted out of our bed after our frame randomly cracked and broke. We spent the remainder of the night in our guest room. Lucky us! The next day, I became sick again {insert sigh here}, and on our way back from a baby shower our Prius ran out of gas... no joke! Remember we are very sleep deprived parents so these little tasks, such as filling up the car can slip our mind very easily. Here's to a fresh new start this week, hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Surprise

Has anyone ever pulled the wool over you eyes? Done something unexpected for you? Well, I did just that to my hubby this weekend. I threw him a surprise party for his quickly approaching 30th Birthday. And I can say with certainty he had a blast. It went off without a hitch. I worked diligently ahead of time on every detail, from the black party cups, the righteous God loves Beer napkins, carefully selected beer assortment, homemade cupcakes, and of course the surprise. The event was perfect mostly thanks to lots of wonderful friends who made the night so special.

Halloween Cookies

Image
I am a total sucker for sweet snacks. Case in point, after sweet little Emma arrived at a whopping 5 lbs 9 oz I suddenly realized my almost 40 lbs I gained in pregnancy quite possibly could be largely in part to chocolate chip cookies. Haha!  So of course now that Halloween is quickly approaching, I am scouring the sites for any and all scrumptious but cute Halloween cookies. And yep, you guessed it Martha Stewart has a tempting selection. Here are some of my favorites: {Top to bottom: Meringue Bone Cookies, Halloween Blondies and  Dulce de Leche Bat Cookies }

Rough patch

T his past week was slightly insane.  Note to readers, this is a slightly pessimistic post.  We had a great week with my parents visiting, but after that we seemed to get pounded with one thing after another. To start off Kyle had a super busy work week, and my at home mommy work week was nuts as well. We had to exit our apartment for the week because of mold and stay at my friend Lisa's place till they were done getting rid of it. It was a total blessing to be able to stay at her beautiful place, but still a bit hard with a 2 month old. And Emma was fussy at night for most of the week, although we did get one night of glorious sleep (well 6 hours of it). Emma also got her shots, eek. And worst of all I ended up in the E.R. Saturday night with a fever and infection (everything is fine now), so obviously I wasn't feeling too good most of last week prior.   And to top it off every little thing that we did, or tried to do, seemed to not go well.  And putting ou...
