Medieval Birthday Fun Times!
For my birthday this year, I decided it was about time to finally make the pilgrimage down to Buena Park and revel in the joys of an era gone by at Medieval Times. Not many could make it out, but the crew that could was solid: The Lovely Lady Lisa , Javelin Jumping Joel , Arsenal Advantaged Adam, Magic Making Matt and Dasterdly Devious Dave. AAA bought me a totally sweet ceramic goblet from which I enjoyed the sweet nectars of Sir Budweiser and Lord Samual Adams.
The feast was mighty, complete with tomato bisque soup, garlic bread, half of a chicken, a bbq pork rib, a half of a baked potato and an apple turnover to top it off. And to make it as Medieval-thentic as possible, you eat everything with your hands, sans utensils. But right there to bring you back into the 21st century as painlessly as possible is the customary wet nap, powdered non-dairy creamer for the coffee and, of course, the Pepsi.
We were in the Blue Corner and our kin-iggit was doing well, winning all 4 of the skill competitions. LLL was lucky enough to receive a carnation from him after a successful round (I think he took a liking to her fair skin and radiant, flowing hair).
We put on our rally caps and cheered our voices out but alas, our blue knight fell to the battle axe of the red knight in the final hand-to-hand combat round. Oh well. We were full and happy at that point, so we made our way back to our noble steeds and trekked back to the West Side.
Thanks to MMM for making the night extra special and paying for DDD to join in the revelry!
