SB Weekend Wrap
As you all know, we headed up to Santa Barbara this weekend to celebrate our 4-year anniversary. We had a lovely stay at Hotel Oceana (with the exception of the drunken teenagers next door to us the first night) where we were inspired by the vibrant interior design (baby's room?), enjoyed strolling through the lush tropical grounds, relaxing in pool-side cabanas and eating tasty complimentary breakfasts both mornings.

On Saturday afternoon, we walked down State Street and popped into a couple stores before heading to a fantastic dinner at Blush, a relatively new modern American bar/lounge/restaurant located caddy corner from the Paseo Nuevo shopping center.
We saddled up to the bar to catch the tail end of happy hour with a glass of suprisingly-good-for-happy-hour Cabernet (for Daddy) and some Spanish-style Chorizo and Cheese-stuffed Peppers with Chipotle Cream Sauce. Then, we made our way to our table for a shared meal of Iceberg Lettuce Wedge (with warm Maple Bacon, Blue Cheese Crumbles and Pickled Onions), Lobster Mac and Cheese, and a Filet Mignon (with Chive Whipped Potatoes, Petite Chili Rellano and Madiera Demi-Glace). We finished off the meal with some devilishly delicious Chocolate Gelato (for Mommy) and a Brown Sugar Ginger cocktail (for Daddy), which was kind-of like a syrupy, gingery version of a mojito, muddled mint and all – WAY good. All for what we thought was a very reasonable price compared to what we might've paid for the same meal at a trendy spot somewhere on 3rd St in Beverly Hills. Highly recommended!
As for Sunday, on our way back home, we decided to "stop by" the Camarillo factory outlets. If you've ever gone to one of these places, you know how it goes… we had a plan, I swear, but 4 hours, 25 stores and 1 crappy food court lunch later, we finally managed to pull ourselves away from the bargains and head back home. Just in time to snuggle.
