Weekend Getaway

We are so incredibly blessed to have two best friends who really love and care for us, so much so that they gave up their weekend plans to come watch little Em while we got away.


We realized we have not had one night away together since our little lady was born... 2 1/2 years ago! Crazy right? I know, time just got away from us, and with super hectic jobs, having a baby, buying a house, adjusting to a toddler, moving and changing jobs two more times, we simply kept putting it off. But with Baby #2 coming soon, they were right, we needed a break. 

We had the most relaxing weekend! We took a stroll up the coast, while stopping along the way for yummy treats. We went and saw the elephant seals breeding ground. We went to a gorgeous hiking spot and headed out to try to see a waterfall {I didn't make it to the finish because of my banana republic boots, being 8 months pregnant and the massive mud}. We went out to an amazing dinner. We watched a movie, slept in and had an epic breakfast. We grabbed a coffee and took a walk on the beach too. We were sooooo relaxed when we came home. Best of all we could complete a whole sentence or story to one another without being interrupted by "potty time"... :-) We had the best time!
